WHO WE ARE
Here at We Breastfeed NENC, we support all families in their journey through breastfeeding. Our core belief is that with the support of the community and family, everyone can breastfeed. We provide this support through La Leche League meetings and 1:1 guidance from LLL leaders and breastfeeding professionals, as well as through the collaborative work of our partners in NE NC to make all communities breastfeeding friendly. However this support looks - we are here for YOU.

WHAT DOES IS MEAN TO BE "BREASTFEEDING FRIENDLY"?
Per laws in all 50 states, breastfeeding families are allowed to feed their children in private and public places. They may nurse or feed wherever them deem fit and no covering is required. Businesses who are breastfeeding friendly understand this and often provide a separate area where the family can nurse and/or pump comfortably.
Per federal law, employers are required to provide a reasonable amount of time and a private area that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public (not a bathroom or storage closet) where a parent may express breast milk.

“It’s okay to let go of the image of the perfect mother. It was never real anyway. Perfect is never necessary; good enough is always good enough.”
